When she’s not behind a camera, MacKenzie can be found playing ultimate frisbee and watching hours upon hours of movies.
Emma is from Johnston, Iowa and attends Iowa State University. She joined DMSC because she loves how the nonprofit organization brings the Des Moines community together using exciting and unique events. She is in charge of the event planning and hopes to continue doing this type of work after she graduates.

Mary is a programming intern at DMSC. She is from Mankato, Minnesota and is a third year student at Drake University where she is pursuing a double major in Music and Psychology. When Mary isn’t locking herself in a piano practice room or the library while contemplating the ills of capitalism and academia, she can be found watching her favorite movies (which usually have a score below 20 or above 80 on rotten tomatoes) and cross stitching like a fiend.
Alyssa is interning at the social club as a program marketing intern. Alyssa is originally from Illinois and is attending Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. She is double majoring in music and journalism/communication with endorsements in PR. Going into her third year at Wartburg Alyssa loves chilling with friends and playing her clarinet.
Madi is the Culinary Marketing intern at DMSC. In Kindergarten they asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up…she still doesn’t know the answer, but is currently entering into her senior year as an Advertising major at Iowa State University. Growing up in Fort Collins, Colorado gave her a great appreciation for mountainous activities, though she now spends the majority of her time playing soccer for the ISU Women’s team. In the future she hopes to continue fulfilling her passion for music, coffee, tacos and great people by traveling as often as possible.

He’s from Pleasant Hill, Iowa and will be a third year student at Wheaton College, Illinois where he studies art history and studio art. Sam’s time outside of the gallery is filled with relaxation and absolutely destroying his younger brothers in many games of backyard badminton.
Riley is a gallery intern at the DMSC. She is from Des Moines, and is entering her final year at Grand View University where she studies graphic design, photography and interactive design. She will be studying abroad this coming semester in Denmark. She hopes to work in a small firm when she graduated.
