Learn what insects really taste like and how they can benefit you and the environment simultaneously. We will learn how to use products ranging from flour to whole insects to create memorable and palatable dishes. Come make some entomocentric cuisine!
About the Artists: Cassandra lived in New York City from 2006-2013. This is where she discovered her passion for the many different cuisines from around the world. She graduated from the Iowa Culinary Institute at DMACC in 2015. She is personal Chef for many small businesses in the Des Moines area. Her favorite cuisine to cook at home is Traditional Sichuan Cuisine from North Western China.
JaV’on’s entomology career started when she was a kid and has continued to flourish since then. Her passion for entomophagy began in 2013 at Iowa State University where she was one of the last to cross the stage and receive her bachelors in entomology in 2016. She’s striving to make an impact by exposing you to edible insects and their immense benefit to not only you, but your environment.
