Alicia grew up in a small town in Southwest, IA and moved to Ames to attend Iowa State. She is pursuing a degree in public relations and event management. In her spare time, she likes to dance her heart out at concerts, dig through bins of vinyl at random record stores, and binge watch American Horror Story. She is a marketing intern for DMSC and will graduate from ISU in the spring.
Jamie is an Ames native and junior at Iowa State majoring in journalism with minors in performing arts and German. She also works in the Cyclone athletic department for Cyclones.tv, and in her free time enjoys performing theatre, improv and standup comedy, gaming, and watching sports. She is very excited to be a marketing intern at DMSC working on bringing photo and video coverage to the amazing events the Social Club has to offer!
Angelica has joined the DMSC team as a Venue Management Intern. She is a senior at Iowa State University double majoring in event management and public relations. Angelica is president of the Event Management Club and an opinion columnist for the Iowa State Daily-spare time is a foreign concept to her. Although she is a proud Californian, she has made great strides in her adaption to Iowa Life (meaning she no longer tears up at the sight of snow). Her focus will be creating and collaborating on events for DMSC with the rest of the venue management team. She is also a reality TV expert so if you have any questions about The Real Housewives, she’s your girl.
Molly grew up in a small town just out side of Des Moines. She is double majoring in art education and studio arts at Grand View University. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her friends, family, and pets, visit art museums, and dabble into photography.
Abby Johnson is a senior at Iowa State University majoring in advertising with a minor in events management. Her areas of focus include: writing, videography, and creative advertising. Abby is happiest in the sunshine and loves learning and meeting friendly faces.
Adam Rogan is a soon-to-be graduate of Drake University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication and a marketing intern at the Des Moines Social Club. He does his best to ignore the carpal tunnel that he’s sure is forming in his fingers that are usually found typing away on his beloved Macbook. To mask the pain, he’s slowly destroying his eardrums with the mix of punk rock, indie-folk and emo he has within his 8,500-song Spotify library. Adam is also an expert chef when it comes to microwaving Ramen and Lean Cuisine.
Andrew Tubbs is a development intern at DMSC who is originally from Des Moines, Iowa. After spending maybe too much time attending events at the DMSC, he decided to become a part of the team. He graduated from Wartburg College with degrees in music, business, and German and is currently a graduate student at the University of Iowa pursuing a master’s degree in music. In the rare event he has free time, he is a stand-up comic and enjoys binge watching corgi videos.
Keaton is excited to be working as an education and outreach intern for the Social Club this summer. Keaton is originally from Elkader, a small town in Northeast Iowa. Katie grew up in a square-mile town in northeast Iowa and currently attends Warburg College where she is majoring in Accounting with a History minor. When Katie is not on the sidelines cheering for Wartburg’s football and basketball teams, she can be found curled up in corner reading, running around town, or at home playing with her cat. Katie is excited to join the DMSC as their first Accounting intern and learn more about the non-profit side of accounting!
Maddie is a senior at the University of Iowa studying Journalism and Mass Communication and Critical Cultural Competency. She grew up an avid fan of all things Michael Jackson, sarcasm and Scooby Doo fruit snacks. You can find her binge watching Scientology documentaries or listening to the sweet sound of Terry Gross’ voice on NPR. She’s excited to join the team at the Des Moines Social Club and get hands-on experience working for a non-profit organization.
