Des Moines Social Club’s Viaduct Gallery

DUST at Viaduct Gallery is the first exhibition of a new approach to curating contemporary art: the exhibition will be ongoing and continue to grow over time with different art works and artists added on a regular basis, as opposed to a temporary exhibition with a fixed group of artists.  Conceptually, DUST is concerned with something that is omnipresent and, literally and metaphorically, a byproduct of our existence.  The artwork included in the exhibition embodies this physical material that we typically disregard as an important existential aspect.  Over time, the exhibition will grow with artwork and artists to reflect the ideas of time and existence imbedded in DUST. Curated by Benjamin Gardner, an ongoing exhibition of contemporary art.

Competitors at the Deathmatch are notable talents of the community and the judges are recognized writers, educators and entertainers. Come out and see us August 1st for an evening of words and wit. Those interested in participating in the Deathmatch should contact the Des Moines Poetry Slam (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Des-Moines-Poetry-Slam/234711179924543) and ask for Jonny Demo.
